BFN’s Administrative Centre

BioFuelNet’s Administrative Centre is hosted by McGill University and is responsible for the daily operations of BioFuelNet, under the direction of Network Management. BioFuelNet’s administrative offices are LEED-certified and located at the former Dow Brewery in downtown Montreal’s Quartier de l’innovation, born from the partnership between McGill University and École de technologie supérieur (ETS). The Quartier de l’innovation is an area dedicated to creating a world-scale innovation ecosystem, bridging industry, academics and socio-cultural aspects.

The duties of the Administrative Centre include*:

  • Implementing communications, networking, partnerships, technology transfer, training, and other Network strategies as approved by the Board of Directors;
  • Drafting budgets and program guidelines;
  • Arranging for the disbursement of Network funds;
  • Preparing financial and other annual reports as required by the NCE programs;
  • Providing administrative support to the Governing Board, its committees and the management of the Network;
  • Facilitating the transfer of Network-supported intellectual property;
  • Assisting in the preparation of publications, meetings and events; and
  • Maintaining books, files, and accounts
